Student Internships: The High School Internship Program provides local high school students from low-income communities with the opportunity to learn job skills. The program has also included homeless students for whom this experience has often proven to be an important self-affirming opportunity. The Program was recently expanded to include yearlong internships for several students. Disaster Relief : Bank staff spontaneously mobilize to respond to natural disasters around the world, primarily by setting up donation tables in Bank lobbies and cafeterias. Funds raised through these donation drives are provided to international nongovernmental organizations directly involved in disaster relief operations, such as the American Red Cross.
